  12. I have a PC and Adobe Type Manager and would *love* to get the Star Trek
  13. fonts.
  14.  
  15. So, I followed the instructions in the FAQ and got all the necessary utilities
  16. for converting Mac Type 1 to PC Type 1 fonts and then downloaded the Star Trek
  17. fonts that come as .HQX files.  No problem! :-)
  18.  
  19. This is what I did with STARTREK.HQX:
  20.  
  21. First, I ran XBIN which successfully extracted STARTR.DAT  :-)
  22.  
  23. Then to list the .DAT archive, I used EXTRACT with the following command line:
  24.  
  25. extract -l startr.dat
  26.  
  27. and it displayed:

  31.      All Rights Reserved

  49. So I tried to extract all the files by typing:
  50. extract startr.dat -b -u
  51.  
  52. and it creates a directory called NAME0001 with a file NAME0002 which
  53. is the READ ME file in the archive (but only that one file).  If I
  54. specify any file with the -e  option of extract, like so:
  55.  
  56. extract startr.dat -b -u -f -e"StarTreCla"
  57.  
  58. it displays:
  59. ****** ExtractorPC 1.00 ******
  60. Copyright 1991 by Bill Goodman
  61.      All Rights Reserved
  62.  
  63.  
  64. No errors.  All files were successfully extracted.
  65.  
  66. but nothing gets extracted.  :-(

  68. I even tried appending the type extension to it:
  69. extract startr.dat -b -u -f -e"StarTreCla.lwfn"
  70.

  77. Error:  Unable to find the file/folder 'STARTRECLA.LWFN'.

  79. I have only been able to extract the readme file from this and other MAC
  80. archives.  Has anyone successfully managed to extract anything but the 
  81. readme file?
