- I switched from using vi (yuck) to emacs a few months ago
- and although I like emacs there are many things that I miss
- about vi. Here is a list - perhaps someone can tell me where
- to FTP some files (*.el macros ...) to fix these problems:
-
- 1) a nroff style man page
-
- OK here come my really big gripes:
-
- 2) I _really_ want the equivalent of vi's ":set nu" mode,
-
- and vi's paren matching *on demand* i.e. you put the point
- on a paren and press % and vi moves the point to the matching paren
-
- ":set list" mode
-
- I could live with a current point location displayed (line #
- and column #) in the mode line in place of vi's :set nu
-
-
- is there a FAQ for this group? I looked on rtfm.mit.edu for one
- but found nothing.
