- Allow me to comment briefly on the FAQ about DSP effects. I'll forward a copy
- to Phil for the official FAQ if appropriate.
-
- Sample Mot DSP56001 code for stereo reverb, chorus, and flange is included
- with my freeware assembler for the 56001. V1.1 was recently posted to
- alt.sources and may be found (for the moment) via anonymous ftp on
- newsun.novell.com /pub/a56v.1.1.tar.Z. My reverb code, as well as another
- implementation can be found on Dr. Bubb.
-
- Attached are some additional postings with references, etc.

- I just received _Digital Audio Signal Processing_ yesterday. I have
- been consuming it voraciously. I thank Bill Alves and Juhana Kouhia
- for the pointers.
-
- I also have ordered _Elements of Computer Music_ from Prentice Hall
- and am anxiously awaiting its arrival as well. Here is some ordering
- information for those who might be interested.

- Contents of _Digital Audio Signal Processing, An Anthology_:
-
- 1. Introduction to the mathematics of DSP (F. Richard Moore)
- (Not a bad little text)
-
- 2. Introduction to digital filter theory (Julius O. Smith)
- (Not a bad little text, either)
-
- 3. Spiral Synthesis (Tracy Lind Petersen)
- (first published account of a new synthesis technique)
-
- 4. Signal processing aspects of computer music (J. A. Moorer)
- (James Moorer's classic article--discusses many synthesis
- techniques. Reverb algorithms. More than 6 pages of refs)
-
- 5. An introduction to the phase vocoder (J. W. Gordon, J. Strawn)
- (Includes source code for a phase vocoder--a powerful method
- for synthesis, pitch shifting, time scale modification, etc)
-
-
- And from the dust jacket-
-
- The articles in this book were written for both the beginner and the advanced
- practitioner of digital signal processing, especially as it relates to digital
- audio. Digital signal processing gives insight into matters such as
- digitization and sampling, inherent in the creation of digital audio.
- Musically useful tools fot the manipulation of sound, such as filtering,
- reverberation, spectral analysis, and cross-synthesis, are anchored in
- digital signal processing as well.
