- MORE SPECIFICALLY, you should read pages 27-32 of the Installation
- Guide which came with the 400. NOTE the following:
- 1. If you have set Option 1 (mostly FAX) or Option 2 (mostly voice)
- for the shared line, YOU STILL HAVE TO SET S0=n where n is the
- number of rings after which the DATA modem will answer. If you set
- S0=0 (default), the DATA modem will never answer.
- 2. The FAX modem will answer after the number of rings which you
- selected in SETUP and THIS WILL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THE SETTING IN
- THE S0 REGISTER.
- 3. The "trick" of picking up an EXTENSION phone and entering the #
- key is described there, but note that you should set your FAX
- modem to pickup on GREATER than 1 ring or else you won't be able to
- answer a VOICE call before the FAX modem picks up the line.
-
- When all else fails, READ THE DAMN MANUAL! Good Luck.
