- Could someone tell me what command to put in the init string to get
- silent answer in a Supra V.32bis? The ability to use silent answer is
- included in the 1.200H version, but the small leaflet doesn't mention
- how to turn it on. I've noticed that the modem listens on the line,
- but it still sends RING messages...
-
- For those who don't know what silent answer is, it's the capability to
- listen for CNG tones on the phone line and not send RING messages
- unless they are present. This means you can have a voice/answering
- machine line combined with the fax modem. I would like that very much,
- as it would allow me to leave my fax software on all the time, waiting
- for possible incoming faxes.
-
- Please answer by e-mail, too.
