- I just gripped a Digicom Scout Plus 14.4k modem this past week, and I
- am having trouble doing downloads with it. Here's the deal:
-
- I use Qmodem, the software that it's bundled with. When I try and
- download using YMODEM-G/batch, it will start downloading for about 10
- seconds, then the status message bar in Qmodem will say:
-
- CRC ERROR IN BLOCK #num (num being something like 8 or 10 or 11)
-
- then it will say
-
- LOST INTERRUPT ERROR
-
- upon which, if i press any key, I get a nice download to my screen, so
- I have to hang up my modem and dial in again.
-
- If I use ZMODEM, everything seems to work okay, however, I'm only
- getting about 580 CPS transmit rate. Once, I did get about a 730-750
- transmit rate, after I had kicked up the number of download buffers to
- 64. This is at 9600 baud on a 9600 baud line. WHen I connect, I get
- CONNECT 9600 EC/MNP5, if that helps any.
-
- Could someone help me out? I had definitely hoped to have a little
- better thorughput than this. My system is a 486SX/25, with a serial
- mouse in COM1: IRQ 4, the modem in COM2: IRQ 3, no COM3:, and the
- other physical serial port (25-pin) at COM4:.
-
- Thanks...email or post..I'll be followin!
