- Hi... I think the subject says it all.
-
- I have a TwinCom v.32bis/v.42bis modem with 14.4 fax (rockwell chipset) and
- am trying to connect to a friend's BBS (wildcat software) which is running
- a Cardinal v.32/v.42bis modem with 9600 fax (unknown chipset).
-
- At high speeds, anyway, it dosen't seem possible! I can hear the negotiation,
- but it appears as though the Cardinal is NOT going through the v.32 step
- down, at least from the tones... It ultimately winds up that the modems
- just whistle at each other!
-
- I have been able to connect at 2400 baud by setting s48 to 128, s37 to 6 and
- locking my comm program to 2400 baud.
-
- Any suggestions on how to move to a faster speed?
-
- Many thanks!... Rich G.
