  12. FYI, Tyronne of Zyxel tech support told me today that Zyxel is in
  13. the process of producing adapters for the RJ11 jack in the back
  14. of the 1496x series of modems so that a microphone can be hooked
  15. up for voice recording.  He neither confirmed nor denied the rumor
  16. that the "headphone" connection seen on some newer modems (?) will
  17. be used for audio output.

  19. However, given the ability of the modem to record to disk and play
  20. from disk, a Soundblaster or similar sound card should be able to
  21. do the trick.

  23. If anyone has hacked a microphone hookup to the Zyxel, I'd like to
  24. hear from you.  Also, has anyone tried hooking a speaker up to the
  25. points on the motherboard labeled "headphone"?  If so, what happened?
