- FYI, Tyronne of Zyxel tech support told me today that Zyxel is in
- the process of producing adapters for the RJ11 jack in the back
- of the 1496x series of modems so that a microphone can be hooked
- up for voice recording. He neither confirmed nor denied the rumor
- that the "headphone" connection seen on some newer modems (?) will
- be used for audio output.
-
- However, given the ability of the modem to record to disk and play
- from disk, a Soundblaster or similar sound card should be able to
- do the trick.
-
- If anyone has hacked a microphone hookup to the Zyxel, I'd like to
- hear from you. Also, has anyone tried hooking a speaker up to the
- points on the motherboard labeled "headphone"? If so, what happened?
