AT&T Paradyne, a subsidary of AT&T, has just released a new line of high-speed, plug-n-play data and fax modems.  Five models are available, including the DataPort (TM) 9.6/Fax and 14.4/Fax modems, both of which are available in desktop and PC-internal models.  Also available is a 14.4 external data modem.  The DataPort 9.6/Fax modems combine 9,600 bps (V.32) data speeds and 38,400 bps (V.42bis) throughput with Group III Fax compatability.

  19. The  DataPort 14.4/Fax modems add V.32bis compliance for raw data line speed of 14,400 bps and throughput up to 57,600 bps.

  21. The modems emphasize AT&T reliability, compatability and
  22. performance and are backed by a limited LIFETIME WARRANTY.

  24. One unique feature of the DataPort is an OPTICAL phone LINE INTERFACE (OLI patent pending).  This technology allows the user to communicate at high speeds even on less than ideal lines.

  26. The modems also offer flexible configuration options and include FREE QuickLink II (TM) communications and Fax software for both Dos and Windows (a Macintosh version will soon be available).
