- I'm in the process of buying an older Zoom V42bis (the ones that look like
- an aircraft carrier) 2400 baud modem for use with a venerable old Mac Plus.
-
- Are there any gotcha's for this modem? How do the newer Zoom modems differ
- from the older ones?
-
- It doesn't have a manual? Can somebody:
-
- 1. Lend me one (perferably in the Puget Sound region)?
- 2. Copy one for me?
- 3. Provide me with Zooms phone number so I can get one from them?
-
- Any other advice welcome (like what are the standard MNP, V42, v42bis S
- registers and their settings -- this info would really help). I've used 2400
- baud modems before, but the error correction/compression stuff is new to
- me.
-
- Any advice on hooking up Macs with a handshaking cable also welcome.
-
- Email prefered. I'll post if there is an interest.
