- The Hayes V-Series modems are older modems, still available, that used
- a HALF-DUPLEX version of V.32 that they called 'ping-pong'. It is NOT
- compatible with the standard V.32 or V.32bis modems. Hayes NEW modems,
- the Optima 96 and 144 and Ultra 96 and 144 are true V.32,V.32bis,V.32,
- V.32bis modems. The Ultra, besides including the V.32/V.32bis also
- is compatible with the V-Series modems and other split-baud, synch,
- and X.25 modems. The Optima is more a standard V.32/V.32bis modem
- at a lower cost without all the added goodies.
