  19. I'vd been thinking about this ... and find it hard to justify a modem
  20. as a fax machine.  Many things you want to FAX will be in hard copy from
  21. other sources ... hence the need for a SCANNER.  The price of the scanner
  22. + modem FAR exceeds a reasonable fax machine .. and for Printing faxes,
  23. unless you have a laser printer, you have to deal with painfully slow and
  24. noisy dot matrix.
