- This is probably a simple request but I am not familiar with any
- data communication software, so ...
-
- I have two PCs. They need to exchange files (both ways) regularly.
- The incoming and outging files are stored in designated directories.
- On certain time of the week, one PC will call up the other to initiate
- the exchange. Is there any software that can do this ?
-
- Typically, there will be 20 ascii file exchanges, each is approx 1K byte.
- The two PCs are 10K miles apart, expect bad phone connection.
- Both have standard 2400 baud modem without "on the fly" compression.
- So, some kind of batched software compression is desired.
- Also, only the caller PC has a human operator. The called PC
- should run by itself.
-
- I understands that there are BBS sharewares that can do the job
- but I am looking for something simpler. Any pointers ?
