- I'm in the process of contemplating adding a faxmodem to a Unix system,
- and I was wondering what sort of software is needed to drive it. The
- system presently has absolutely no graphics software. Does a faxmodem
- work like a laser printer; i.e. can I send ASCII text for it to convert to
- some font, or do I have to send it some form of bitmap or image of the
- page(s) I want to send? In the latter case, what software are people
- using to do this?
-
- The application would involve dial-out only, to send text files to fax
- machines.
-
- BTW, the modem being considered is the Supra.
-
- Thanks in advance.
