  11. I'm in the process of contemplating adding a faxmodem to a Unix system,
  12. and I was wondering what sort of software is needed to drive it.  The
  13. system presently has absolutely no graphics software.  Does a faxmodem
  14. work like a laser printer; i.e. can I send ASCII text for it to convert to
  15. some font, or do I have to send it some form of bitmap or image of the
  16. page(s) I want to send?  In the latter case, what software are people
  17. using to do this?

  19. The application would involve dial-out only, to send text files to fax
  20. machines.

  22. BTW, the modem being considered is the Supra.
