- Greeting Netters,
- I need some good advice on databases for DOS.
- Here's the Situation:
- I am going to write a database application that will include
- inventory control, technical support, probably billing, and other
- database handling routines. I have already written one in dBase IV but I
- am looking for some input on other database applications. What we need
- is mainly :
- fast execution,
- creates executables (.EXE) files,
- capable of file sharing (ie Novell networks),
- good easy to write in! (I know dBase but I'm willing to learn
- others)
- handles menus (pulldown / popup /etc)
- can do multiple choice in fields
- and most of all inexpensive.
- PS: dBase can't hack it (no offense)
- Currently we are considering Borland's Paradox, and Fox Pro 2.0. Please
- E-mail replies on the pros and cons of you suggestions.
-
- Thanks in advance.
- Chris.
