  12.     I have a problem; i'm trying to use telnet through a window
  13. system that does local echo. therefore, on my unix system, my
  14. stty has echo off and ONLCR off. telnet, at least the version i have,
  15. blithely ignores my setings, turns on echo and other stuff and
  16. to top it off, doesn't even return to my old settings when its done.

  18.     is this telnet at its finest, or do i have an old version?
  19. (i think i have the latest but how can i be sure?)
