- Does the money get put in the general fund, or does it get spent on sports?
- What I learned at the University of Illinois was that donations to the
- football program never seem to make it out to the academic side of the
- university, and that in fact sports are a net drain on university resources.
- The standard argument is that they're good for the image of the university
- and promote donations to other departments, but this assertion is hard to
- prove.

- True, but that's the same with big-time football schools everywhere, and
- isn't unique to Colorado. Giving a lifetime contract to a coach who
- publicly promotes garbage like amendment 2 might be unique, though (although
- football coaches tend not to be sensitive, caring types in general ;-)
