- TRUE, Students do get bombarded with credit applications.
- BUT I took a few up and have not had a problem, THE first thing I do is check
- the APR, then I check to see if there is an anual fee if there is a fee I
- rip apart the application, I WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE A CREDIT CARD!
- mostly because I have a good personal credit policy.
-
- DO NOT make a purchase unless you have the cash to cover the amount
- of the purchase, as well as ANY balance that may be on the card.
-
- I was able to follow that with at lest 90% of my purchases...
- I then always made at least the min. payment. With that you build a good
- credit standing to help you latter in life.
-
- The big KEY is NEVER get a credit card, or make a purchase if you
- will not be able to afford it.
-
- I have a friend that had a credit card senior year of High School,
- and basically screwed himself by soph, of college, by buying stuff, and having
- car problems ending up about 10,000 in debt. So it is all based on your
- personal spending and can you handle it.
