  15.     TRUE, Students do get bombarded with credit applications.
  16. BUT I took a few up and have not had a problem, THE first thing I do is check
  17. the APR, then I check to see if there is an anual fee if there is a fee I
  18. rip apart the application, I WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE A CREDIT CARD! 
  19. mostly because I have a good personal credit policy.

  21.     DO NOT make a purchase unless you have the cash to cover the amount
  22. of the purchase, as well as ANY balance that may be on the card.

  24.     I was able to follow that with at lest 90% of my purchases...
  25. I then always made at least the min. payment.  With that you build a good
  26. credit standing to help you latter in life.

  28.     The big KEY is NEVER get a credit card, or make a purchase if you
  29. will not be able to afford it.

  31.     I have a friend that had a credit card senior year of High School,
  32. and basically screwed himself by soph, of college, by buying stuff, and having
  33. car problems ending up about 10,000 in debt.  So it is all based on your 
  34. personal spending and can you handle it.

  38. PS:  The majrity of my bill were always paid in full thus I made money from
  39.      using Discover...  ( as little as it was about 7$ )
  40.
