- There used to be a route through nasa but it wasn't terribly reliable
- and seemed like such a long way to go to send a message across town.
- GTA operates a private gateway for GEMDES users (the Government version
- of Envoy) but it won't work for regular Envoy users, and AT&T Mail has a
- gateway for those with AT&T Mail access. The problem with an Internet -
- Envoy gateway is that Bell (actually Stentor) has no way of collecting
- from one of the parties (they charge to both send and receive mail) and
- cannot enter into any sort of account settlement arrangement with "The
- Internet" as they can with other companies such as AT&T. Until Stentor
- perceives it to be in their best interest to provide a gateway it won't
- happen. Call your sales rep and complain loudly. In the meantime be
- aware that if you do find a gateway, someone is paying Stentor on your
- behalf for delivery of your e-mail.
