  14. The new series of products has just been officially released in Australia.
  15. The machines that we are interested in are the lower end SparcStation LX
  16. and Sparc Classic. It seems that both are claimed to run at 59.1 MIPS. The
  17. main differences are:
  18.  
  19.     o ISDN support
  20.     o CD quality audio (single channel?)
  21.     o Graphics accelerator
  22.     o Classic is about half the price of the LX
  23.  
  24. If we're not doing graphics work and already have a file server, why would we
  25. consider buying an LX over a Classic (given that the claimed MIPs rating is
  26. the same)?

  28. The Sparc2 is rated at 28 MIPs according to the Sun propaganda sheets we have.
  29. This being the case, why would anyone buy a Sparc2 now instead of an LX?
