- I believe the point was that Data was an "Ensign" when it came to
- Command, as he pointed out he was trained for Starship command, but
- on the planet, his first real taste of being on the spot with no
- backup and having to make command decisions as well as doing his
- job - thus he was as green as any ensign on his first landing party when
- it came to this kind of thing...
-
- thats what I saw the connection to be...
-
- course I could be quite wrong..

- Ah but she admitted her info was out of date and how
- bad their computers were... and data said "you are right"
-
- They might not have known about androids, but what I think they
- did was like short him. I mean look at it this way, if we came
- from the 60's where all we knew was how to pull out the power cord
- of an ibm/370, and we were plonked infront of a mac fx, surely we'd
- try and pull the power cord out even though the mac was far advanced
- (this is an example, not a joke :) perhaps I should say sun and not
- mac), and we didn't know anything about the advanced
- technology, but we could still shut it down. That's what I think
- is a reasonable type explanation for how the leader could shut data
- down for awhile...
-

- I actually thought Troi was less of a bimbo this time :)
-
- what I want to know is that if the text of the treaty was 500,000 words
- what search condition did Picard use to find those sub paragraphs in all
- that saying they wanted a 3rd party? I mean don't tell me he and worf
- and troi read the whole thing in that time....
