- It is quite posible that the phasers they had did not work on the planet..
- as data's before modification. There fore (and since there was no need for
- them) they might have forgotten phaser technology.

- About They Knowing a lot about data.... Isn't data pretty old... As in
- gh info in the ship.... even though just theory (usually thearoy arives years
- before parctical stuff arives).
