- Why was this episode called "The Ensigns of Command"? I miss whatever
- connection they are making totally.
-
- It was also very badly scripted, the colonist leader was a terrible actor
- and the story was full of little inconsistencies. How did the colonists
- overcome the radiation to survive? Just saying that they were forced to
- adapt is no explanation. The woman with the thing for androids knew a hell
- of a lot about computers/androids in general. Now it is possible for a
- colony ship to retain technology, but not when, as is said early on, "They
- were too busy trying to survive for history lessons". (ie. even the story of
- why the ship had turned up on the planet was not well-known - survival being
- a much higher priority than learning). They didn't know what a phaser was
- but they knew enough about androids to turn Data off with an interesting
- electrical shock weapon.
-
- Oh well.
