I know! Lets put all the hunters and crazy game officials in the tundra
and then shoot _them_ down from helicopters!!! Geee, then we won't need to boost the game populations to unnatural levels because there won't be so many trigger happy psychos to push such an absurd action.
While I don't really mind the hunting of game animals like this, as long
as a species is not endangered or the population affected too unnaturaly, I think that this is disgusting. Apparently the state of Alaska thinks that they can play God to their own wilderness simply for the pleasure of their own hunters and for the hopes of a bigger hunting tourist income. The whole thing makes me want to puke. They want the wolf population to be decreased to 20% what it is now, with the excuse that 'well, they seem to rebound very well'. Excuse me, but it seems like wolf populations are k
ept healthy not only by a plentiful food source, but by natural selection. Only the strong survive in the wilderness. If we have a bunch of men with guns randomly killing 80 percent of the wolf population, we suddenly don't have natural selection anymore, and the species could be severely weakened. Imagine what would have happened to the world if God decided 80% of the population just had to go. What if in that 80% had been all the Einsteins, Bachs, Michelangelos, DaVincis, etc.?
