Today's science fiction is tommorow's reality. The Discovery article the
original poster cited describes some interesting developments. There is
still work to be done but that leaves plenty of room for speculation... :)
No, I don't have the issue of Discovery magazine available. I'm one of those
annoying people who picks up a copy from the newstand, flips through it and
then puts it back ;)
Oh yes, you might recall all the theories on the utilities of airpower done
between world wars. I think we can discuss tactics and doctrine on those
grounds if we recognize that there is a good chance it won't be quite the
way we predict in reality.
