- To the dude who asked about the DKs:
-
- Their first album was Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, followed by an EP "In
- God We Trust Incorporated" (featuring a personal favourite: "Nazi Punks Fuck
- Off") After this came "Plastic Surgery Disasters", "The Frankenchrist" and
- "Bedtime For Democracy". There were also live albums ... um ... "Forward To
- Death","Skateboard Party" and anoher one I think. There was a posthumous
- release "Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death" which contained singles,
- B-Sides, live stuff etc.
-
- The members of the band went on to do different things. DH Pelagrio was
- credited for helping to write a couple of Red Hot Chili Pepper Songs (of all
- things) off the Mother's Milk album; Klaus Fluoride did a solo album; and of
- course Jello has done several million things - spoken word, projects with Al
- Jourgensen from Ministry, DOA, Nomeansno, Tumour Circus, cameo vocals on albums
- a couple of movies ... see alt.music.hardcore for more discussion.
-
- Has this answered your question ad neauseum? I've even got a discography if
- you really want.
-
- Note that FFFRV, IGWTI and PSD are the best of the studio albums. They went
- downhill after that IMIWO. There is a compilation - "Virus100" which has people
- doing covers of their early stuff - Le Thugs, Victims Family, Neurosis, Alice
- Donut, Napalm Death (doing Nazi Punks :)), L7, Sepultura .... etc ...
-
- What else can I rabbit on about ... The Dead Kennedys played at my local pub
- back in 82 - just down the road. Before you all start saying "big deal" please
- note that this is Newcastle I'm writing from. NO-ONE comes here. Wonder how
- the folks around here took it. They get freaked out and hide their children
- when they see Goths in the shopping mall - and they're harmless.
-
- Time for me to shut up.
