  16. rumor to genuine ethnography, find the first printing *only* of Ed Sanders,
  17. _The Family_ (NY: Dutton, 1971).  Sanders (the illustrious leader of The
  18. Fugs and author of _F*** [sic!] God In The Ass_) posed as a drug-crazed
  19. satanist in S. Calif. after the Manson murders became public and collected
  20. everything he heard about dog-skinning and blood-drinking.  The first printing
  21. has a lot about how The Process masterminded the Tate-LaBianca murders, but
  22. Sanders was successfully sued for libel by The Process and he (alas) had to
  23. take all the good parts out in the second printing.
