- Ahem....Bill Clinton captured 43% of the vote. A majority means at least
- 50% of the vote plus 1. Bill Clinton certainly did NOT get a majority of
- the popular vote - he had a PLURALITY of the vote. I ignore the electoral
- college vote since it is largely a winner-take-all approach and does not
- accurately reflect the popular opinion. A president can even win the
- electoral vote but lose the popular vote.
