  12. My parents' divorce was good for me, too, much better than constant 
  13. fighting in the home.  But I would go even farther to argue that the 
  14. divorce rate on the whole could be a good sign.  Why?  It seems that 
  15. society is re-evaluating marriage.  People are ending unhappy and 
  16. unfulfilling relationships.  They aren't staying together for all the wrong 
  17. reasons.  People who are getting married are hopefully looking more closely 
  18. at their reasons for marriage--society no longer expects marriage when a 
  19. female is pregnant.  Now I'm not saying that teenage pregnancies are 
  20. desireable, or that I believe children should be raised in one-parent 
  21. homes, but I think society is in a transitional stage.  Maybe we're all 
  22. learning something from it.
