- Actually, it's the same track. The original version was monaural; the
- "Loose Ends" cut was someone's futile attempt to make it multi-tracked.
- The person responsible used a pseudonym (Alex Trevor), so it's unknown
- who actually did the mix.
-
- As to what would have happened if Hendrix hadn't strangled in his own
- puke, "Lifelines - The Jimi Hendrix Story" provides some clues. On the
- whole, the album contains some mildly annoying radio DJ voice-overs (it
- is a recording of a Westwood One radio show), but it also contains some
- unreleased material recorded shortly before his death, including a
- snippet of a session he did with the Brecker Brothers. Also, he died
- just before a scheduled session with the Gil Evans Orchestra (I think at
- the New York Philharmonic). This would have realized his oft-stated wish to
- dabble in classical work. My own suspicion is that Hendrix would have
- eventually settled into a more traditional blues arrangement -- at least as
- traditional is it could be when played by Jimi Hendrix.
