  31. I agree completely. I thought the Future Games and the album that proceeded
  32. it when Welch first joined FM were very good. In fact musically I thought
  33. they were a reasonable transition from the sound FM had on Kiln House, which
  34. was already moving away from the more blues/rock sound they'd had previously.
  35. I can't say I liked Mystery To Me much however. It had some interesting points
  36. but the band was clearly beginning to lack a musical identity, which may be
  37. why most people discount this period in the band's history. But I still have
  38. those albums and I still like them. I don't think Welch had the talent of
  39. Mac's early or later guitarists, but he fit in well with what they were doing
  40. at the time and did contribute a lot in terms of songwriting.
