  17. I noticed several posts listing individual songs.  If you want those, for
  18. guitars, the first two Extreme albums have good guitar solos, with a little
  19. bit of background stuff.  But I got the impression you wanted whole albums.
  20. Well, for guitars (again), sometimes with backup stuff, try "Guitars That Rule
  21. the World" or the CDs put out by guitar magazine that are devoted to guitar
  22. solos.  There are at least two, cuz I have Volume 2.
  23. David Foster has a couple albums out of piano music that I like.  It's softer
  24. rock, but I'd still call it rock.  Some might call it easy listening, tho.  I
  25. don't really know of any groups that are devoted mostly/entirely to 
  26. instrumentals.
