- RE:> The Beach Boys were too commercial to be considered
- Progressive.
-
- A considerable portion of the Beach Boys career was
- non-commercial, dispite thier early records and their current
- repotoire. Law suits continue to rage here in California partly
- fueled by Brian Wilson's desire to go certain directions that
- were considered non-commercial by the rest of the group and
- their recording industry sponsers.

- 'Smile' or selected cuts of 'Surf's Up', 'Pet Sounds', 'Holland'
- or 'Hero's and Villians' often exposes a political advant-garde
- Beach Boys most people havn't heard on the radio. Also
- listening to 'Good Vibrations' carefully with headphones can
- also give some insight into the complexity and sophistication of
- this period of the Beach Boys music. As stated earlier Brian
- Eno has publicly attributed Brian Wilson as a major influence,
