-
- It was the material. Apparently, Time-Warner wanted Ice to tone some of his
- stuff down, and Ice agreed, God knows why.
-
- I've got a real beef with these corporate infotainment outlets like Time-
- Warner. Lately, it seems that the slightest thing that offends some small
- interest group (like Republicans) gets changed to satisfy everyone, and a
- lot of things that need to be said are missing. Time-Warner is trying too
- hard to avoid controversy, and as a result, a lot of artists' work is going
- to get stifled. I don't see why Ice-T doesn't just buy out his contract and
- hook up with a smaller company somewhere, so he can drop just what he wants
- to drop.
-
- >BTW is Icecube's Predator commercially out yet?
-
- Yes, and it's all that. The first two tracks on the album slam like Van Damme,
- and the rest of it comes off just as hard. I thought the beat should have
- been a little rougher for "We Had To Tear This MF Up," though, but Cube's
- work with DJ Muggs sounded pretty good. Go get it.
