- i don't know. i made up some PHAT beats back @ the school that i used
- to go to. i know lots of other brothers that made up fat beats. (O.P.P.'s
- beat's a'ight, but me & my buddy got a demo that has ABC in it that's
- way fatter & it was out before Op crap (yeah, i still hold a grudge))
- the problem is that we don't know who to talk to, or, the people i know
- hear (local artists) sell to these bull**** companies that dont know how
- to handle their business or are screwed up (any one heard of "Pump ya
- fist" by BMW? used to be on Luke's records (may still be there)...got signed
- just when he was geting sued or whatever happend to him). either i got
- skills, or it's pretty easy to make a dope track by sampling. you just
- gotta know how to make a beat sound funky by placing it in a different
- place (IMHO, i think that ANY half-good dj can create a pretty funky
- beat given the right sampler (i used to do it w/ my CASIO)). i talked
- too much, but you just about get the picture. getting into the business
- is a lot more then just a dope demo. who you know, luck, and
- persistance (that's what Chuck D. told me when i asked).
-
- o.k., although i'm no cube fan, i *still* got 2 give him props for doing
- some funky beats.

- oh yeah, i spent plenty of time, but like i said, lots of other's do
- too. just not lucky (or rich) enough.
