- OH REALLY! It's funny how that is not difficult at all to do, yet there are
- not that many people who impress the rap world with both their beats and
- their lyrics like Ice Cube does... There are not that many that impress me
- like that either... and I'm an even harder critic.
-
- >example, Wicked track, OK it's dope hard etc. but the beats all used before

-
- "..the beats are all used before fuck him"
- Hmm.. How much of hip-hop beats have been "used before" ? It's not that
- the beats haven't been used before, it is that he (I.Cube) uses the beats
- in a different way... In Wicked, I.Cube takes part of Breed's "Aint No Future
- In Yo' Frontin", along with pieces of two PE cuts... This is his 3rd LP and
- I must say that Cube uses the beats differently...
-
- >another stupid example: 'A good day' or whatever the title is, that track
- >makes me puke when thinkin about how he used that 'Compton's most Wanted' sample.
-
- Funny how in the credits, Cube said the two samples were
- (1) "Footsteps in the Dark" recorded by the Isley Bros. and
- (2) "Come on Sexy Mama" recorded by the Moments...
- CMW may have used it too but don't try to say it is ok for one to sample
- and not the other. CMW may have used it first, but Cube used it differently
- and better.. give up the props G

- Come on, don't be hypocritical... Even if Cube uses SOME samples
- of more popular songs, he uses them DIFFERENTLY!
- You cannot deny that he is not using any skills. It takes imagination for
- him to use the beats that are already out there, and make them "new".
- So far, I'm impressed.
-
- >If you cannot make original music yourself, let someone else do it.

- This is a whole new discussion, I don't have time to get into this one..
-
- Cube's CD is dope... If you don't want to give up any props for making
- dope LP, cool.. If its sooo easy, then why aren't there more? Perhaps
- you should negotiate with Priority and make your own..
- Otherwise, give up the props...

- There's really nothing to argue about here. In order to sample, true, its
- not that hard, but to sample well, it takes skill and research. Don't try
- to tell me that Cube doesn't spend time listening to lots of old records
- and stuff...
-
- That's enough on this one....
-
- "And that's the truth, Ruth" oops.. another sample..

- "Other foot; ok bend over, grab your ass, spread your cheeks
- and give me two good coughs... <We Will Rock You sample>"
