  21.        Not a big deal, but James Baldwin wrote the screenplay 10 years
  22. |ago as a book (available in book stores, and called "When The Chicken
  23. |Comes Home to Roost").  It was based on HIS OWN ideas, accounts, and

  27. with the Tony Brown-produced "When Chickens Come Home To Roost"?

  29.        The script for _Malcolm X_ was written by Spike Lee BASED ON
  30. |the Baldwin script and Alex Haley's book and many other sources, including
  31. |family members.

  35.        People find that very important because, ultimately, if the movie
  36. |does not do justice to Malcolm's life, Spike is to blame,  NOT Baldwin

  41. won over the mainstream critics, if Newsweek and S&E are

  44.        As a film student I had the opportunity to work at 40 Acres and
  45. |a Mule (Spike's production co.) in Brooklyn as an intern this past 
  46. |summer.  The movie really looks great.  I saw it get edited, and saw the
  47. |soundtrack get put on, etc. etc., and I have to tell you this:

  50. |famous speaches as we see the Rodney King beating footage intercut 
  51. |with an American Flag.  Back and forth, until the flag bursts into
  52. |flames, which spread upward, to form an "X"...

  54. So I've heard.  Is it as gorgeous as it sounds?
