- I just caught the tail end of this thread, so I don't know if someone has
- already suggested this, but how about just getting a cellular phone? Lots
- of areas have vendors that will practically (or literally) give away a
- cellular phone in exchange for signing up for 1 year or two of service.

- wouldn't matter if her abusive husband got her number or not, since it
- wouldn't be tied to a physical address.

- Also, I don't know about her area, but in the Dallas/Ft. Worth areas, lots
- of folks get service from cellular companies that have a much large "local"
- calling area than the local conventional carrier, so it actually ends
- up being cheaper than a regular phone, if you make most of your calls
- after normal business hours or on holidays, etc...
