- Thanks for all the help. I've found out a few things, like it's
- not illegal to use a fake name if you're not going to defraud.
- A fake address is also necessary because the husband can find
- the phone number from calls from other friends and relatives.
- Another friend (who left her husband years ago) still pays all
- her bills without using personal checks.

- Apparently his finding her through those records would be
- grounds of firing. She doesn't want him to get in trouble
- at work, so I don't think she'll want to alert the phone co.
- (She's not quite prepared to break the silence -- the familiar
- story, of course: so few people even know about the situation.)

- The paperwork for a restraining order is completely insane,
- by the way, as is the cost of processing it.
