  18.     As a new resident to Los Angeles County, I thought thought this
  19. newsgroup would be a nice way to meet new friends and ideally start a 
  20. long-term relationship.

  22.     First, I'll tell you a bit about myself.  I moved here two 
  23. months ago from Chicago, where I worked for a telecommunications
  24. company.  Unsatisfied with life in Corporate America, I decided 
  25. graduate school would help me gain the skills necessary to work
  26. in a small consulting firm or to start my own business.  Thus, I'm
  27. enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate in Organizational Psychology.
  28.  
  29.     The warm weather and relaxed atmosphere of California have
  30. been a pleasant change from the midwest.  Although classes have
  31. kept me busy, free time has been occupied with a variety of fun
  32. activities.  Football games and campus parties, swimming and dancing,
  33. and visiting art exhibits and tourist attractions have been great
  34. distractions.  I also enjoy midnight walks along the beach, driving
  35. into the mountains, and just learning.

  37.     I consider myself average looking, with an interesting
  38. personality.  I am 25 years old, 5'9," 145 lbs., with blond hair
  39. and bluish-green eyes.  Friends say that I resemble a native 
  40. Californian, even though I grew up in the midwest.  I am a very
  41. inquisitive and driven person, characteristics which no doubt
  42. have propelled me into this program.  I relish conversation 
  43. about a variety of topics (especially politics and international
  44. topics), going out on the weekends (esp. to jazz clubs), and 
  45. engaging new adventures (e.g., skydiving)!

  47.     If she takes the time to get to know me, a woman will 
  48. find warm friendship, intellectual challenge, and sizzling romance.
  49.  
  50.     I am not overly discriminating in relationships, but certain
  51. qualities are most compelling.  My ideal partner is:
  52. * age 21-32
  53. * has or is working on a bachelor's degree
  54. * is interested in physical fitness
  55. * knows what she wants regarding her own career
  56. * is willing to try new activities
  57. * balances autonomy with commitment
  58. * demonstrates warmth and loyalty in relationships
