  32.     i am the keeper/present administrator of the FAQ.  i have been on
  33. this group since the beginning.  obviously you have not read the FAQ very
  34. carefully, if at all.  or perhaps you have confused that ACS with the
  35. alt.personals.* newsgroup(s).....
  36.     this is a common and irritating mistake.  ACS stands for anonymous
  37. contact service, and is run by (now the only one on the a.p.*) d. wagner,
  38. out of @cupid.sai.com.  you must mail a message to it to have it appear.
  39. all that it does (after stripping the headers and 'sigs' is to post it
  40. to alt.personals.* with the anonymous headers and 'sig'.  JUST AS ANYONE
  41. ELSE WOULD, IF THEY POSTED IT THEMSELVES!!!
  42.     ANYONE can post to alt.personals.* by using Pnews (or whatever
  43. their system uses to post to newsgroups) or by using the follow-up or
  44. reply commands.  you do not have to use the (restrictive) ACS, if you do
  45. not want to, or find it restrictive, or wish to be an open and honest
  46. poster. 
  47.     ACS is overlaid on the a.p.* group(s) it is neither a part of it,
  48. controlling it, or responsible for it, in *ANY* way!!!  neither does it
  49. moderate it, police it, or have more than a moderate influence on it.
  50.     in point of fact, they (almost all of the variations) have been
  51. a major source of abuses of the internet/usenet systems, generally being
  52. more of a headache for everyone, including the administrators of such
  53. 'services'.

  55.     nobody *asks* that sex personals not be posted, unless it is a
  56. person who has an objection to it on a personal level, and has voiced a
  57. *personal* opinion.  there is *NO* moderator on that alt.personals.* 
  58. groups!!!  there are guide lines, suggestions, and 'nettiquette' as to
  59. content, but the actual *RULES* are few, and well documented!

  62. need, anyway!) that is fine, but you better get your facts straight.  your
  63. reason is totally invalid.
