  16. Yes, I'm female, Asian, single (if you really care to know), late twenties,
  17. graduate student in an applied mathematics field, who's about to graduate
  18. and forever leave the academe in May for an undetermined location.

  20. Realistically, I'm not looking for a lifelong partner at the moment since I
  21. have no idea were I'll end up after May. But I would like to hear from
  22. people  just about anywhere who would like to tell me about life outside
  23. Illinois --  where I've been since coming to the US. Who knows, I may end
  24. up in your area (slim chances if you're in Iowa or Nebraska, though).

  26. Interests:
  27. I'm into Macintoshes and think that Powerbooks are the greatest thing since
  28. bidets :-)  Once stayed up until 7 (i.e., post-sunrise) trying to beat my
  29. roommate at Spaceward Ho! (tm).

  31. Food, both eating and preparing it, but I get rather picky sometimes. 
  32. I especially like, what else, Asian (Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese,
  33. Korean, Filipino, Indonesian) food. I can't last longer than three days
  34. without rice, as I found out the hard way in Europe. I'm not much of a
  35. drinker, although I sometimes have a glass of wine with dinner. Definitely
  36. not a smoker, and react badly to cigarette smoke(rs).

  38. I love travelling and visiting other places. I've been to Europe, South
  39. America, Canada, and quite a few cities in the US, plus I regularly return
  40. to my home country for vacations. I try to keep up with what's going on in
  41. the world by reading the NYT and clari news.

  43. My tastes in music range from jazz and New Age to dance music, anything
  44. *except* country music, heavy metal, and Air Supply. I'm a pretty good
  45. dancer but have not had too many opportunities lately (other than
  46. weddings).
