- Back before the concept of "mantra" was popular, I
- had a driving instructor in highschool who had a
- "mantra" - it's one of the two things I remember
- from the class(*). His mantra was:
- "Signal your *intentions*, not your *actions*"

- Happens here in CA also. Was walking across the
- crosswalk on the way home a couple of nights ago,
- with the green "walk" symbol, and a guy who was
- making a left turn onto the street I was crossing
- from behind me SUDDENLY decides to beat the traffic
- we were both facing - thus not ONLY almost running
- me down, but missing getting hit by the cross-traffic
- by inches.
-
- Major peeves would have abounded because given the
- speed and trajectory of the two vehicles, they BOTH
- would have wound up hitting me in the crosswalk.
-
- !peeve - I saw it in time to jump back and avoid
- getting hit - and the guy squeaked by the cross-traffic.
-
- Peeve: He's still alive and driving - and possibly
- adding to the BDID gene-pool.
