  27.       Hi Death!  I'm new enough to this group that I can't answer your
  28. question about the frequency of fundamentalist postings.  I don't even
  29. know how nervous one should be.  I guess it depends on how vocal and
  30. prominent you are about your beliefs, and where you are when you
  31. choose to be vocal.
  32.       When it comes to something like the posting on fetal remains after
  33. an abortion, I kind of suspect that the person who posted it is long gone
  34. and doesn't even bother to read the replies.  They already know what we're
  35. gonna say, so why should they bother?  If they do pass through, I bet it's
  36. only to see if they've managed to shake anyone up.  It's kind of like
  37. people who leave fundamentalist literature in the libraries--they're just
  38. trying to spread the word to us unenlightened folk.
  39.       On the other hand, I would not be entirely surprised if the
  40. fundamentalists are monitoring this group and a whole bunch of others they
  41. might consider to be distasteful.  What better place to get ammunition for
  42. your own beliefs than out of the mouths of your enemies? 
  43.       I guess I'm here (in this newsgroup) because I care about what
  44. happens to our planet, and this caring runs deeply enough that I consider
  45. it to be religious.  If someone has a problem with me caring about the
  46. environment and the fact that if we don't care we destroy every one of us
  47. (including the fundamentalists), then I guess they'll just have to live
  48. with it.  Still, you won't catch me going onto the 700 Club and saying this!

  51. to Janis' recent posting ("Hi Janis.  This is Death."  --or something to
  52. that effect)!
