  12.   Hope that folks here can help me.  I'm putting together a collection
  13. of definitions of magic -- not long essays, but one- or two sentence
  14. distillations.  I'll post some of what I have here so that you/we can
  15. comment on them. If you have some of your own, or some you've copied
  16. down, I'd be obliged if you could post hem or email them to me with as
  17. much bibliographic info as possible (but send 'em even if you don't
  18. remember the source).
