- I can honestly say that I've read a good dozen alchemy treatise in the past
- twelve years. From the "Emerald_Table" to Paracelsus, from "_L'Entree_Ouverte_
- Au_Palais_Ferme_du_Roi_" (by ?) to Jacques Breyer's "_Oubah_", they all say
- a lot, and yet very little. Every Adept who writes about the Art claims to
- be generous in giving nothing but the true method. Artephius is amongst them.
-
- I've come to believe that the only two ways one can complete the Work is to
- apprentice to an Adept or figure out the workings of nature and adapt it to
- achieve the Stone. Finding an Adept is not an easy task. They're not waiting
- at every street corner for an apprentice to show up. Figuring out the workings
- of nature is tantamount to finding an answer to "Why Does The Universe Exist?".
-
- I sometimes wonder if I'm really "cut out for the job". Having figured out
- through reading and deduction that some figures of legend and religion were
- Adepts only proves how far I still am from the answers I seek. Sometimes I
- even begin to doubt that the Art is true. But then, the legends come forward
- and reassure me that it is. If the Art is only a "wild goose chase", then
- I can only marvel at the determination countless authors and thinkers had/have
- to promote the existance of the Art.
-
- I wish to thank you, Josh, nontheless, for the time you spent copying the
- treatise for the benefit of others such as I who still seek the truth
- hidden behind the words of the Adepts.
