  30. Well, I didn't derive the number, but that was the estimate of
  31. subscribers in the news.lists posting. It is an estimate based on the
  32. number of sites sending in information compared to the estimated
  33. number of USENET sites. They estimate 190,000 USENET readers, and that
  34. 0.8% of the people read alt.magic.
