- Don't even *think* about using a gun for self-defense until you either
- complete a good gun safety/self-defense class, or at least read a bunch of
- good books on the subject. The essential reference is _In the Gravest
- Extreme_ by Massad Ayoob. Also good: _The Street-Smart Gun Book_, _The
- Truth about Self-Protection_, _Armed and Female_ (a great book and you
- don't have to be female to read it).
