- Why risk the jail time? Not only is it assault with a deadly weapon
- but also reckless endangerment (of the surrounding dwellings, peds, etc.),
- discharging a firearm within city limits, and whatever else the DA wants
- to come up with. Even if you do get off with only probation, you're still
- vulnerable to civil suits from the perpetrator!

- If you need to shoot, shoot to kill. If you can't justify a killing
- (imminent mortal danger to yourself or your family), don't shoot the gun.
- If the perp runs away, consider yourself lucky: he won't likely come back
- and you won't get nailed for a "revenge" maiming or killing.
