- Well, since our local ircserver is toast, I am going to ask
- a very simple, probably oft-repeated question which didn;t
- seem to be addressed in the faq.
-
- For those of us who do not have IRC access, but _do_ have
- telnet access, are there any systems I can telnet to that
- offer public access to the irc?
-
- Goonsquad.bbs.spies.com is gone, and I never used it anyway
- (our local server only went out about two weeks ago) and
- bradenville.andrew.cmu.edu really bites. I'm not knocking it,
- at least it is there, but it's a real pain to use. (I don;t
- so much miss the / commands [although I do] so much as not having
- to type /msg #[conf] texttexttext every time I want to say
- something. Macros are nice, but it's still a frustration.
-
- Compiling a client is _not_ an option for me.
-
- Anyone have any thoughts? I could have sworn there were at
- least three others that offered it [and they couldn't be
- worse than bradenville] but that little piece of paper I wrote
- them down on seems to have vanished.
